EVENINGS OF RECOLLECTION

This Evening of Recollection took place on Monday, November 17, 2025.

This talk is divided into three parts:

1. Redemptive Suffering

2. Purgatory

3. Indulgences as the bridge between Redemptive Suffering and Purgatory

There is no charge for these events but a donation is accepted.  The donation will go for something very special - that would be the source of many blessings for years to come - the establishment of the "St. Padre Pio Chapel in St. Matthew.” It’s going to cost the parish between 5k to 15k to get it established for perpetuity. Any donations towards that would be greatly appreciated.

Many Catholics are searching for a worthy cause to donate to, especially as a form of almsgiving during Advent This is definitely one of them. If you would like to donate use one of the following options:

1. Deliver in Person to Saint Matthew Catholic Church

Place money (cash or check written out to Saint Matthew with the memo: "For St. Padre Pio Chapel"} in an envelope with Fr. Valery’s name and “Donation for Padre Pio Chapel” written on it and hand it directly to him or to an employee of Saint Matthew Parish or place in the collection basket.

This year is a jubilee year in the Church which brings with it many special graces and blessings. One of them is the ability to gain a plenary indulgence by walking through a "Pilgrim Door" (if all other conditions are met) that is applicable to oneself or to a holy soul in purgatory. Saint Matthew in Tyrone, Georgia, has been designated as one of the parishes in the archdiocese for this. It is an official pilgrimage site during this Holy/Jubilee Year and the Pilgrim Door is at the main entrance of the Church.
